Seo Jun Young(Kwon Sang Woo) is the singleton of Seo HingJa that's a shrewish waitress in DongDucheon. He has a pure heart, and a hard and lonely childhood. Aslo, he has effeminate geist and crude male temperament. Since his childhood he started to learn music, for he has a born genius for music , he could repeat the melody after hearing it only for one time and grasp kinds of musical instruments easily. Because he couldn't get warm love, he expressed crude character in his childhood, but after encountering Hye In, he started to exhibit his side of softness in heart. He's a romanticist who has a sentiment of first love to Hye In from beginning to end.
Park Hye In(Kim Hee Sun) inheriting mother's origin of singer, she has excellent voice and music sence. Having obstacle of eyesight, but she's a clever and bright girl,never gavin in and cry easily. She has firm mind and a character that's softness outside and adamancy inside. Consoling Jun Young's hurt heart softly, also relying on him, in hard surrounding, she still got through a happy childhood.
Lee Gun Woo(Yeon Zeng Hyun) is the singleton of famous communication enterpriser Lee KangIn, was the second generation of plutocrat living in the rich surrounding like a prince. He's born the avatar of charming leader, likes doing sports such as archery, equestrianism, football and so on. He has the courage of his conviction, has justice and favor in saying with fist. He's the crown prince, what he wants shouldn't be got by anyone else, and no one could stopped him when he wants something.
Chae Hwa Jeon(Kim Yeon Ju) has chipper and imprudent character, and when hearing her name, naughty children in village would be so afraid to shiver. Her dream was to become the best dancer, perform on the world stage, be Jun Young's wife and live a happy life together.
Synopsis:
 In the pothouse in base village, under tempts from drunkards and neon lights never extinguishing, Jun Young learnt to toddle with cares of little sisters and grew up on uncle's knees. At nitht, he stayed in the vacant room without mother's accompanying, fearing and shivering; he ran into the rest room of night club, with rumble music and noise, crouching in a corner till asleep lonely.
After gradually growing up, Jun Young admired a common family life with father. But for he's the son of waitress, he hated his mother, a woman often being embraced by men and earning her living by flirting. Jun Young's only friend is Hwa Jeon, who's his mother's good friend's daughter. Hwa Jeon, one year younger, seemed to be Jun Young's shadow, but Jun Young never gave her one good word.
When Jun Young was ten years old, a new singer Mi Juh in night club where Seo HingJa worked came and took her daughter Hye In, this's the first time to meet his fated lover Hye In for Jun Young. In the instant when seeing the 9-year-old girl's clear eyes and warm smiles, Jun Young was shaken and fell in love with Hye In though she couldn't see anything. He started to release his hurt and childish geist that's always hided by himself, only in front of Hye In, Jun Young expressed his blandness and kindness, not liking a wild horse any more. Though facing to Jun Young's crude tone when they met for first time, Hye In still observed his beautiful heart and genius hided. Hye In consoled Jun Young softly by her pure love. But what she did suffered other friends' envy. Hye In tried to refused Hwa Jeon who looked Hye In as her rival in love and created difficulties for Hye In. And Hye In aslo hoped she's liked by Hwa Jeon. Finally, Hwa Jeon became Hye In's friend.
Like that, with pure love, hiding his genius for music, Jun Young grew up to a 17-year-old lad. But, Mi Suh took Hye In away and left at night, so Jun Young and Hye In even didn't make any promise and had to depart. Later, Jun Young, staying in room all day, was taken away by his father and changed name as Cha Jun Kyu, started his new life.
But, the happy childhood times went by fast. Hye In was taken to Seoul by her mother at night without knowing anything. Hye In missed Jun Young so much. But in the strange city, she couldn't get in touch with Jun Young. It's the first time for her to feel despair, so she lay in bed without food and water. However, her mother suddently started to prepare mint operation fee actively.
 Hearing Jun Young had come to Seoul, Hye In had a hope to meet Jun Young again. She believed that Jun Young would find here one day, finally, before Hye In went to America with her stepfather, she met Jun Young again fortunately. Hye In and Jun Young held their wedding alone and got through their first wedding night together.
Before going to America, Hye In and Jun Young made promise that Hye In would resume her eyesight, and when they grow up, they wouldn't depart any more.
Entering into new school, Jun Kyu got well with fated friend Gun Woo and they set up a close friendship.Firstly Gun Woo thought music was only the exclusive thing for women and disliked it, but after seeing his friend Jun Kyu learning guita and acquaint underground musician Jin Hunk' brother JinPyo, he started to contact music.
Then Gun Woo's sister Syu Ji married with SangJin. Gun Woo found that his sister wasn't happy after her marriage, so he beated Sang Jin nearly to death. Since then, Sang Jin hated Gun Woo very much, and it foreshadowed the unfortunate life of Gun Woo in future.
Jun Kyu made a promise to Hye In that, he must become the best guitarist when they meet again. So Jun Kyu devoted into learing and joined in the entrance examination of Seoul University Music Instrument Department. But, because of contretemps, he couldn't take the examination. Jun Kyu's dream was broken, he fell into the black and despairing hell again.
On the other hand, for failing in entrance examination of university , Gun Woo selected to study in America. There, he was active in football team and was very popular in female classmates. He also set up a band with musicians and addicted himself in career of creating music.
But, after arriving in America, Hye In immersed in discourage.Her foster father, who promised that he would make Hye In operated, was a ruffian without any money in fact. He rapped Mi Juh's money earned hardly, and often beated her. Hye In and her mother decided to leave, and went to New York. For singing all day and night hardly, Hye In's mother was ill, so Hye in started to sing instead of her mother. The beautiful Korean blind singer was very popular and it meaned Hye In kept her situation of a club singer. However, Hye In still had the hope of going back to Korea and meeting Jun Young again. But, from Hwa Jeon she got a news that Jun Young had died, all her hope was broken in a instant. Hye In walked through the street, loosing her mind, and was ran down by Gun Woo's car.
After investigating Hye In's background, Gun Woo felt shocked.........Hye In awaked, and resumed her eyesight with the help of a anonymous charitarian. But, she couldn't see Jun Young's face though resuming eyesight, Hye In still couldn't set herself free from despair, so she returned to club and continued being a singer. One day, a blackguard dallied with Hye In, Gun Woo helped her. They began to be familiar with each other gradually. Feeling Gun Woo's endless love to her, her iced heart melted gradually.
Gun Woo finished his study abroad, before going back to Korea, he commended Hye In preformed on the stage as a singer. Hye In recalled what Jun Young said, "When I grow up, I will compose for you.", so she accepted Gun Woo's suggestion. With Gun Woo's help, Hye In and her mother went back to Korea. Jun Kyu, who's working hardly and living so tired, almost forgetting his love and dream, encountered Hye In once again. Hye In, the only hope and life in his heart, the lover of his best friend Gun Woo, has returned.......
